New Work
This week we started working with Becky Valls, a choreographer from Houston. Beginning a new work is such an exciting time for the performers, a time to explore new movement possibilities and meet new challenges. Exhausted and sweaty, the company left the studio today with smiles on their faces. The work we've been doing with Becky is both challenging and fun, and I can't wait to see how the work progresses. Becky is a pleasure to work with, and a talented individual. This piece will be performed at Callanwolde in February. If that seems like a long time to wait, don't worry. You can check out some of our process this coming Thursday at Lunchtime in the Studio. You can find the details of the event on our website. This sounds like such a rewarding process! There's something truly special about the energy of beginning a new creative project, especially when you're collaborating with someone as inspiring as Becky Valls seems to be. That feeling of being exhausted but happy after a day of challenging, fun work is so relatable. It reminds me a bit of how I feel after a good session playing Tiny Fishing lately. It's my go-to for chilling out, especially when I manage to upgrade my gear and finally catch those rare, elusive fish. It's a different kind of challenge, but equally satisfying!
